Clotopia is the story of a passion that found its form.
It all started with a fascination for tufting — this textile technique that transforms yarn into dense, soft, and vibrant works of art. Hours spent learning, failing, restarting, perfecting. And little by little, a universe took shape: colourful, quirky, straddling pop art and sincere craftsmanship.
Today, Clotopia is a workshop based in the Paris region, a tufting machine, kilos of acrylic yarn, and hours of work to create pieces that are unlike any other.

It all starts with an idea — a character, a shape, a colour. The pattern is drawn, then transferred onto a stretched fabric frame. The tufting machine injects the yarn row by row, stitch by stitch. Then comes the favourite moment: hand shearing, which reveals the reliefs, refines the contours, and gives the rug its characteristic velvety texture.
Each piece takes between several hours and several days depending on its size and complexity. That’s why each Clotopia rug is unique — even slightly different from the previous one.
Behind Clotopia, there is Chloé.
Textile artist based in the Paris region, I create each piece by hand in my workshop. Tufting is my main practice, but I also explore other artistic disciplines that nourish my creative universe.
What excites me? Creating everyday objects that make people smile. Rugs that are recognisable, wrist rests that personalise a desk, cushions that tell a story.
