Care & Tips
Your Clotopia® rug is a unique handcrafted piece, carefully tufted by hand. A few simple actions are enough to preserve its softness, colours, and volume.
🧽 Regular Care
Vacuum your rug once a week, without a rotating brush, in both directions.
Use a soft brush (never metal) to remove pet hair. If a thread is loose, cut it cleanly — never pull on it.
Avoid damp areas like the bathroom or kitchen, and rotate your rug every 3 to 6 months to distribute wear evenly.
⚠️ Absolutely to avoid
Washing machines, tumble dryers, steam cleaners, hot water, bleach, and solvents are to be completely avoided.
Never rub a stain and never fold the rug while it is still damp.
✨ The golden rule: always blot — never rub
Liquid stain (coffee, wine, juice...)
Blot immediately with an absorbent white cloth.
Mix 250 ml of lukewarm water with a drop of mild dish soap, blot gently, then dab and let air dry.
Greasy stain (oil, makeup...)
Sprinkle with baking soda or talcum powder, leave for at least 1 hour, then vacuum gently.
Repeat if necessary.
Solid residue (dirt, wax, food...)
Gently scoop out without pressing, vacuum the residues, then treat if necessary like an ordinary stain.
💡 Drying
After any cleaning, leave to dry for a minimum of 12 to 24 hours in the open air.
Never accelerate drying with a hairdryer or radiator.
